Bevo Video Productions

Launched in fall 2019, Bevo Video Productions is a production unit operated by Texas Student Media. Bevo Video Productions works with Texas Athletics to deliver original, in-event videoboard content at 100+ events each year. BVP is also available for hire by UT Austin entities wishing to produce quality video content for promotion, storytelling and more.

BVP has open recruitment year-round. Fill out this form to add your information to our database. Our managing director emails out onboarding instructions and project opportunities periodically.

Texas Travesty

UT’s official humor publication, has been voted “Best Non-Chronicle Publication” by the Austin Chronicle seven times and nominated for Best Sound Mixing at the Academy Awards since the paper was established in 1997.

Texas Student TV

Texas Student Television, or TSTV, is the nation’s only student-run, FCC-licensed television station. We have been producing and distributing the best student-made video content on campus for more than 25 years, and we’re available on Dorm Channel 15 and Antenna Channel 32, or online at watchtstv.com.

Tower & Bridge Communications

A collaboration between TSM and the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations, Tower & Bridge Communications is UT Austin’s only student-run advertising and PR agency. We’re here to give students real-world agency experience in account management, PR, social media, content creation, analytics, advertising and events.

Our goal? To prepare passionate communicators for success before they graduate and to help bridge our clients to the UT community, Austin and beyond.

The Drag Audio

We’re an audio production house built by students, professors and Moody College alums. We love audio storytelling, and we especially love long-form journalistic podcasts that guide listeners through a complex story.

Texas Connect

Texas Connect is UT’s staff and faculty magazine. We publish two times a year, sharing stories about the people who power our campus. In building this magazine, Texas Student Media partnered with The Office of the President to create a unique and valuable experiential learning opportunity. Texas Connect develops the next generation of media leaders by providing students with real-world writing, design and production experience. Texas Student Media’s professional staff members help them hone the skills that will help them succeed beyond the Forty Acres.

Physical copies of magazines are distributed throughout campus, and online versions of our stories can be found at texasconnect.utexas.edu.

Graphic design interns should email a cover letter, resume and portfolio to tillie@austin.utexas.edu.

Writing interns candidates must be journalism students who have successfully completed Reporting Words (J310).

Student Influencer

Are you a student at The University of Texas at Austin with a passion for creating engaging content and growing your online presence? Texas Student Media is looking for dynamic and creative influencers to join our team and promote brands and services across the Instagram platform. Key responsibilities include creating a post or reel and share engaging content on social media to promote a brand. You will collaborate with our marketing team to develop and execute campaigns tailored to the UT Austin student community. Build and maintain a positive brand image through authentic and compelling content.

KVRX 91.7 FM

KVRX aspires to play “none of the hits, all of the time.” We support the Austin music scene by hosting shows and recording local bands on our “Local Live” collaboration with TSTV. The UT student-produced programming airs on FM between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. during the week and between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. on weekends. We’re online 24/7 at kvrx.org. Any current UT Austin student can become a DJ.

Creative Services and Marketing

The TSM professional office offers internship opportunities in graphic design and marketing to support a wide range of creative and communications projects. Graphic design projects include laying out our staff and faculty magazine, creating print and digital marketing materials for advertisers and campus clients, and designing social media posts. A marketing intern can expect to write press releases, support social media strategy and help with various internal and external communications efforts and photography as needed.

Board of Operating Trustees

Student Board Member positions provide an opportunity to support the governance of Texas Student Media. Members serve fixed two-year terms, unless filling an unexpired term. Three Moody College of Communication students and three at-large students not currently participating in TSM are elected by the student body to serve alongside faculty members and media professionals.

Advertising Sales

TSM’s student sales force works with our professional staff to sell broadcast, digital and print advertisements to clients across the country who want to grow their businesses by expanding their reach to the UT community and greater Austin. Our sales positions provide valuable experience to students for their future careers, an opportunity for financial reward along the way, and a chance to make new friends and network with colleagues.

The Daily Texan

The Daily Texan is the largest and most award-winning college publication in the nation, and our alumni have won 29 Pulitzer Prizes. You can pick up our print product at newstands around campus and visit us at thedailytexan.com. We publish two days a week, and our papers are always free. The Daily Texan has tryouts for open positions once each semester. Current participants may be eligible for scholarships and cash awards.
